Brenda Bolen

It is with deep saddening we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Brenda Windham Bolen. Brenda passed from her earthly home on Thursday, July 24, 2025. She was 78 years young. She was born to Percy White Windham and Lois Arlene Spence Windham on February 22, 1947. Brenda was a graduate of Jumpertown High School. She received her B.S. degree from Mississippi University for Women, and she obtained her Masters and Specialist degrees from University of Mississippi. She taught for fifty years in the Booneville and Prentiss County School Districts, teaching first and second grades and gifted classes. Brenda was also a psychometrist. She loved her students with her whole heart. Brenda was a member of First Baptist Church in Booneville. She was active in the Joymakers. She enjoyed fitness and working out with the Golden Hour Girls. Though her name was Brenda, she was known and loved by all as Ginny. She could be found on the sidelines, tailgating or courtside watching football or basketball, at a concert or a WWE match. She was wherever her grandchildren wanted to be. She treasured her family above all else. She is survived by her husband, David Bolen, whom she married December 23, 1967; daughter, Lori Horn (Brian); brother, Kenneth Windham (Linda); sisters, Sue Oaks (Wade) and Barbara Holland; grandchildren, Laura Horn and John Horn; and a host of special nieces and nephews. Brenda was welcomed home by her son, John Bolen; her parents; brother, Gerald Windham and brother-in-law, Doug Holland. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Booneville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church Booneville, on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 3:00 PM. A one hour visitation will be held prior to service time at the church. Dr. Lynn Jones and Bro. Jason Reed will be officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery. Booneville Funeral Home will be trusted in assisting Brenda’s family. Pallbearers will be Ricky Ford, Jeff Mincy, Bobby Manley, Mike Moore, Buddy Smith and Jackie Smith. Condolences may be extended to the family at boonevillefuneralhome.net
