Deborah Moseley

Deborah Jeanne Moseley, 80, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born in Baldwyn on September 14, 1942. Her parents were J C Morris and Mildred Hamblin Morris. She went to school in Baldwyn and Booneville. She graduated from Baldwyn in 1960. She went to NEMCC and graduated with a Drama Degree. While in college, she received the President’s Award. Deborah then moved to Fullerton, CA, and attended Cal State Fullerton University and earned her Bachelors in Drama. She worked for Pacific Bell at their America the Beautiful Exhibit at Disneyland. After that, she was transferred to Pacific Bell as a customer service representative trainer where she worked for many years. After she retired, she then taught telemarketing to service reps in large corporations. In Mississippi, Deborah enjoyed finding her “roots”, researching her ancestors in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and North Carolina. Her efforts provided temple ordinances for hundreds of her forbearers. Her signature hobby was to embellish greeting cards with many stickers to personalize the message. She was a ‘people person’ and was loved by many. She touched many lives. Her dedication to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was evidenced by the many callings in which she gladly served. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Bishop Byrd will be officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday night from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Booneville Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation 1 hour prior to service on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Old Mormon Cemetery. Booneville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Deborah is survived by her husband of 32 years, Wayne Moseley; brothers, David Morris, Sr. of Baldwyn, and James Kevin Morris (Dianne) of Saratoga Springs, UT; sister, Ricki Ericksen of Baldwyn; uncle, Robert “Bobby” Hamblin of Cape Girardeau, MO. She leaves her nieces and nephews that she loved like her own children, David Morris, Jr. (Pam) of Booneville, Mason Morris (Heidi) of Fullerton, CA, Jesse Morris (Angie) of Tupelo, Darion Morris of Madison, WI, Allyson Bernat (Sean) of Salt Lake City, UT, Vanessa Ericksen of Salt Lake City, UT, Ryan Ericksen (Sonya) of Dry Creek, Steven Ericksen (Tammy) of Baldwyn, Anne Medford (Aaron) of Salem, UT, and Kristopher Morris (Amy) of Saratoga Springs, UT. She also leaves behind 9 great-nieces, and 13 great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother-in-law, Michael Ericksen, nephew, Jeremy Morris, and a great-great niece, Aleigh Fayth Perrigo. Pallbearers will be David Morris, Sr., Kevin Morris, David Morris, Jr., Ryan Ericksen, Steven Ericksen, Stevie Byrd, and Don Cole. Honorary pallbearers will be Darion Morris, Jimmy Burcham, and Arthur Byrd.
