Doris Taylor Pace

Doris Taylor Pace, 80, walked into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 31, 2025. A celebration of life service will be held on, Tuesday, June 3, at 2:00 P.M. at the Booneville Funeral Home. Visitation will be, Monday June 2, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. With additional visitation from 12 noon until service time on Tuesday. Minister Craig Chandler will be officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, located on Hwy 30 East. Doris lost her battle with kidney disease at her home in the New Hope Community, but is now present with all the family and friends that had gone before her. Doris was born June 29, 1944, to Dayton and Ethel Holley Taylor. She was number two in the family of six children. She attended New Site High School, and had various jobs during her life. She worked at Super Sagless and Parker Hannifin, where she meet many lifelong friends. She managed the Salvation Army Store and owned and operated Second Time Around thrift store, both located in Booneville. She spent five years doing genealogy research on family descendants and published a book with the findings. She wrote for the Banner-Independent newspaper for several years titled “Pacing Yourself.” She also wrote and published an autobiography, “Hill Side Journey.” Doris was a member and attended Hills Chapel Church of Christ her whole adult life, until health issues slowed her down. Doris leaves behind two sons, Dale Riddle (Geraldine) and Al Pace; her sisters, Freida Lambert, Jeanne Benson, and Karen Michael (Bud), a brother; Douglas Taylor (Carolyn K), all of Booneville; sister-in-law; Carolyn Ruth Taylor of New Site; seven grandchildren, Michael Riddle (Melanie), Kayla Tice (Tripp), of Booneville, Crystal Kent (Brandon) of Fulton, Candra Pannell (Cordell) of Pontotoc, Joey Pace (Allison), Josh Pace, all of Guntown: thirteen great-grandchildren, Tyler Riddle, Elle Tice, Dusti Tice of Booneville. Aynsley Kent, and Aubree Kent of Fulton, John Conner Parker, Cheyenna Hancock, Brooklyn Parker, David Tyler Hancock, Ava Pannell, Addison Parker, Isabella Parker and Killian Parker of Pontotoc: and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a special care-giver, Angela Lacny. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Taylor; brother-in-law, Roy Lambert, and the fathers of her sons, David Wayne Riddle, and Ray Pace. Pallbearers are Joey Pace, Josh Pace, Brad Wilemon, Bud Michael, and Jamie Robinson.
