Gladys Marie Stricklen

Gladys Marie Stricklen, 89, passed from her earthly body into the hands of Jesus on August 4, 2022. She was born March 22, 1933, to Lee Shelton and Bessie Nancy Marie Dotson McKinney. Marie loved New Site Royal Basketball, fishing and spending time with her family. “Granny” took pride in helping mold her grandchildren. She enjoyed dancing, flowers, and listening to her wind chimes while sitting on her front porch. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Booneville Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Booker and Bro. Jackie Nix officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. There will be visiting time starting at 12:00 PM Saturday. Marie will be laid to rest in the Martin Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Booneville Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements. She is survived by one son, Jeff Stricklen (Tina) of Booneville; three daughters, Faye Hopper (Danny) of Ripley, Frances Johnson of Booneville, and Jimmie Lynn Moore (JD) of Booneville; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Rogers (David), Julie Jackson (Michael), Jan Rogers (Chris), Chris Whitehead (Jaime), Leighann Moore, Lisa Grooms (JR), Summer Caldwell (Brandon), Ashley Stricklen (Casey) and Patrick Stricklen (Holly); 23 great-grandkids, Olivia Jackson (Trey Hughes), Jacob Mathis, Natalie Mathis, Bailey Rogers, Owen Rogers, Abby Lenard, Hayden Lenard, Logan Durham, Mylee Grace Durham, Millie Durham, Cal Caldwell, Preston Ward, Emily Moore, Oliver Whitehead, CJ Whitehead, Noah Arnold, Jayce Arnold, Riley Thompson, Keithan Stricklen, Mattie Stricklen, Logan Grooms, Grace Grooms, and Alex Grooms (Katie); one great-great grandchild, Scarlett Grooms; sister-in-law, Margaret McKinney; and a host of nieces and nephews including a special niece, Sarah Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; son-in-law, Gary Johnson; grandson-in-law, Chris Durham; great-grandson, Braxton Durham; seven brothers, Houston, Cleston, Haskell, Archie, Ervin, LB, and JD; sister, Charlene Chaffin; seven sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and a very special friend, Gene Barnes. Pallbearers will be Chris Whitehead, Patrick Stricklen, Jacob Mathis, Preston Ward, Logan Durham, and Hayden Lenard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Terry Chaffin, Larry McKinney, Michael Jackson, Jonathan Stricklen Hartley, Aaron Hartley, Nathan McKinney and Walker Moreland.
