Margaret Bruce Furtick

It is with deep sadness and yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Margaret Bruce Furtick, affectionately known as “Meemaw,” at the age of 94. She peacefully departed this life, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, October 13, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and service that touched the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Meemaw was a devoted member of Rienzi Baptist Church, where she faithfully taught Sunday School for many years, nurturing and guiding generations in their faith. Her love for her church family was unwavering, and she was a constant presence at services, Bible studies, and community events. Her wisdom, kindness, and steadfast devotion to God were an inspiration to all who knew her. She loved working in her yard and flowers, as well as, feeding her red birds and humming birds. Before retiring, she worked for Frontier Telephone Company, where her professionalism, dedication, and hard work were admired by her colleagues. However, her greatest work was in the Rienzi Community, where she was a true pillar of strength, always willing to lend a helping hand or a kind word. Meemaw was known for her warm smile, gentle, spirit, and deep care for others. Her love for her family was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She was the heart of her family, and her legacy will continue to shine through the lives of those she leave behind. She is survived by her son, Reggie Furtick (Dianne); daughter, Regenia Goff; brother-in-law, Harold Morgan; grandchildren, Todd Rickman, Mitzi Suggs (Jeff), Brandon Furtick (Leanna) and Lauren Furtick; great-grandchildren, Alex Rickman, Meg Walker (Cort), Elijah Tighe, Noah Furtick, Samuel Furtick and Daniel Furtick; and great-great-grandchildren, Liam Rickman, Otto Rickman, and Darcy Walker. Meemaw’s memory will be forever cherished by her loving family, friends, and church family. Though she will be greatly missed, the impact of her life will continue to inspire and uplift all who knew her. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Booneville Funeral Home. Visitation will begin October, 16, 2024, at 10:00 AM until service time, at 2:00. Bro. Titus Tyre and Bro. Ralph Culp will be officiating. She will be laid to rest in Rienzi Cemetery. Booneville Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. Meemaw is preceded in death by her husband, Everett; son-in-law, Dennis Goff and great-grandson, Cade Suggs. Those honored to be pallbearers will be Todd Rickman, Jeff Suggs, Cort Walker, and Alex Rickman. Honorary pallbearers will be Elijah Tighe, Harold Palmer, Noah Furtick, Noble Williams, and Harold Morgan.
