Stella Mae Burcham

Stella Mae Harville Burcham, age 85, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017, at NMMC in Tupelo. She was born October 31, 1932, in Alcorn County to the late Benjamin F. and Willie Mae Greer Harville. She graduated from Glendale High School in Alcorn County, and married Leon Burcham on August 18, 1951. She was a homemaker and was active in her husband’s local business. Stella was a faithful Christian lady who was very active in her church at the Booneville Church of Christ where she was a member of the Caring Cooks, Freed-Hardeman Associates, the Golden Circle Group, and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was also a talented cook and loved cooking for many church and family gatherings. She loved watching football and basketball, especially MSU and reading Nicolas Sparks books. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, November 27, 2017, at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Greg Pollock and Minister Jim Estes officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Church of Christ Church Cemetery in Alcorn County. Booneville Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. She is survived by two daughters Charlotte Moore (Berry) and Debbie Kitchens (Hubert) both of Booneville, a son Tony Burcham (Keena) of Bartlett, TN, six grandchildren Josh Moore (Amy) of Cullman, AL, Grant Moore (Laura) of Bartlett, TN, Jim Lauderdale (Kelly) of Tacoma, WA, Lauren Brumley (Kevin) of Rienzi, Trista Frazier (Steven) of Hazel Green, AL, and Nick Burcham (Kate) of Madison, AL, eleven great grandchildren, and two special friends Julius Lee Wales and Patrilla Maddox. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years Leon Burcham, four sisters Christine Roach, Lorene Vick, Maurine Hemby, and Frances Harris, a brother Harold Harville, and one grandson Andrew Leon Burcham. Pallbearers will be Josh Moore, Grant Moore, Jim Lauderdale, Kevin Brumley, Gary Kitchens, and John Kitchens. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews Tim Hemby, Skipper Brisentine, Steve Harris, Hal Harris, Sammy Roach, and a niece Ouida Ross. Visitation will be Sunday, November 26, 2017, from 5 p.m. til 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Caring Cooks at the Booneville Church of Christ, or Pine Vale Children’s Home in Corinth.
