Ernest Olen Hughes Jr, age 85, died Thursday, December 24, 2015, at his residence in Rienzi. He was born July 25, 1930 in Booneville to the late Ernest Olen Hughes and Delphia Stanford Hughes. He was a retired technician for the Chrysler Corporation, and a veteran of the Korean War. Olen was a deacon of the Sardis Primitive Baptist Church. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, December 27, 2015, at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James “Pete” Perry, Bro. Cecil Woodruff, and Bro. Steve Leggett officiating. Burial will be in the Sardis Cemetery. Booneville Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. He is survived by his wife Betty S. Richardson Hughes of Booneville, four sons Ricky McLemore (Marie), Timmy McLemore (Evelyn), and Phil McLemore (Vicki) all of Rienzi, and Randy McLemore (Lou Ann) of Bethel Springs, TN, twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and eleven great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Billy Hughes and Harmon Hughes. Pallbearers will be Brent McLemore, Justin McLemore, Nicky Moore, Jonathan Hughes, Ethan Boggs, and Keith Hughes. Visitation will be Saturday, December 26, 2015, from 5 p.m. ‘til 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
