Opal Christene Jackson, 84, passed away Monday, December 19, 2016, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born on March 24, 1932, in Red Bay, Ala. to Toy Cullen and Audrey Mitchell Merriman. She was a member of the Booneville Church of Christ. She and her husband, Malvin, ran the Jackson Egg Farm for many years. She enjoyed reading the Bible, fishing, and gardening. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at 2:00 P.M. at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Estes officiating and Danny Jackson will be delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in Zion Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. She is survived by her sons, Danny Jackson (Evelyn) of Olive Branch, Miss., David Jackson, Dewey Jackson (Elizabeth), and Doug Jackson all of Booneville; one daughter, Pam Jackson of Booneville; one brother, Charles Merriman of Texas; one sister, Helen West of Fulton, Miss. She was preceded in death by her husband, Malvin Quitman Jackson; her father; mother, Audrey Merriman Reese; sons, Darrell Jackson, Dewayne Jackson, and Donald Jackson; a brother, James Cullen Merriman Pallbearers will be Mark Jackson, Justin Jackson, D.J. Jackson, Jonah Jackson, Timothy Jackson, Daniel Jackson, Jared Jackson, and Eric Jackson. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Church of Christ Sunday Morning Bible Class.
