Shirley Jean Green Stagner, 79, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017, at her home in Dumas. She was born in Rienzi, Miss. on November 3, 1937, to Marion Thomas and Annie Wallace Austin. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, making jelly, embroidery, and visiting with family. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 29, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Onnie Ralph officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. Burial will be in New Site Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Joe Stagner; one son, J.D. Moore (Jimmie Lynn) of Booneville; two daughters, Shelia Mullikin (James) and Debbie Stroupe (Nathan) both of Dumas; a brother, Lester Austin of Booneville; 9 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Willie Austin; two sisters, Christine Thompson and Nella Vee Brooks. Pallbearers will be Chris Bodkin, Eric Page, Steven Page, Brandon Page, Jacob Mathis, and Preston Ward. Honorary pallbearer will be Timothy Page.
