Bro. Jerry Wayne Mitchell Obituary (1945

Bro. Jerry Wayne Mitchell, 70, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born August 6, 1945, in Red Bay, Alabama to J. B. and Pauline Walls Mitchell. He preached the Gospel for 44 years, serving as pastor at Hills Chapel Baptist Church for the last 25 years. Bro. Mitchell enjoyed people, good food, and Alabama football, but his passion in life was sharing the Gospel with everyone he met. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ray Hall officiating and Bro. Rex Bullock assisting. Burial will be in Hills Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 26, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. He is survived by his son, Steven Mitchell (Melissa) of Marietta; one daughter, Belinda Gooch (Jeff) of Corinth; brothers, Aaron Mitchell (Shirley) of Hamilton, Al., Amos Mitchell of Adamsville, Tenn., and Ricky Mitchell (Cindy) of Red Bay, Al.; sister, Patty Robbins (Dale) of Red Bay, Al.; his step-mother, Imogean Mitchell of Red Bay, Al. He was preceded in death by his father, J.B. Mitchell and mother, Pauline Mitchell Hall. Pallbearers will be Hal Bennett, Joey Gross, Alex Mitchell, J. Gooch, Alex Mitchell and Paul Mitchell.
