Ms. Imogene Dodds Obituary (1926

Emogene Tidwell Dodds, 87, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born December 23, 1926 in Booneville to Virgil Randolf and Ola Bessie Gertrude Crowe Tidwell. She worked many years for Prentiss Manufacturing and Blue Bell. She was also a homemaker raising eleven children. She was a member of Martin Hill Freewill Baptist Church. She was the last surviving member of the Tidwell family. She enjoyed having a vegetable garden and working in her flower beds, singing and yodeling, sightseeing with her husband. She loved taking care of her husband and family and always made sure they had a good home cooked meal and a glass of sweet tea. She always loved visiting her brother and sisters. Funeral Services will be 2:00P.M. Friday, November 21, 2014, at the Booneville Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Rodney Brazil and Bro. Jack Whitley, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Martin Hill Cemetery. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Floyd Dodds; seven sons, Gerald Dodds of Thrasher, Jimmy Dodds (Jo Ellen) of Hill's Chapel, Howard Dodds (Carolyn), Charlie Dodds (Jo Carol), Tommy Dodds, Virgil Dodds (Wanda), and George Dodds of Booneville; two daughters Carolyn Boren and Janice Winfield (Bobby) of Booneville; 26 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Paul Tidwell; four sisters, Vina Estes (Nicholson), Annie Mae Jones, Rhoda Lee Bolt, Etta Self; two sons, Larry F. Dodds, and Terry W. Dodds; two grandsons, Chris Dodds, and Larry W. Boren; a granddaughter, Lisa Marie Dodds; and a son-in-law, John Boren.
