Lisa Carol Lindsey

Lisa Carol Holliday Lindsey, 63, passed away on March 9th, 2026, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice. She was born to Troy and Mildred Holliday on September 13th 1962, in Tippah County. She was married to Jobie Lindsey for 39 years. She was a nurse and advocate. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Booneville for over 30 years. She attended Northeast Mississippi Community College and was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and UMMC. She served her community, Mississippi and Alabama in many ways. She was a member of KidneyCAN where she raised awareness and funding for this kidney cancer foundation and research group. She organized a KidneyCAN advocacy day for a Mississippi State Baseball game where she had Neecy Arnold sang. Lisa was honored on March 9th of this year by KidneyCAN, and KidneyCAN gave each Congressman and Senator one of her butterfly paintings. The BYX Fraternity was involved as they wore and handed out Kidney Cancer t-shirts. Lisa was an advocate for KidneyCAN in Washington D.C. She went with the advocacy group and called for research on Kidney Cancer. Lisa helped with 4-H club congress when she was little and with her son. She helped the kids make cards for cancer patients. Lisa helped start the first Resolve Chapter in Mississippi for couples having difficulties in having children. Lisa worked hard for years gathering items, gifts, special things for NMMC and UAB hospitals for children and adults. She painted butterflies for mothers that lost babies. Lisa helped organize and feed the House of Hope in Birmingham. She wanted to help patients that were receiving radiation treatments. For years she helped a quilting and sewing group called Koinonia Krafters. They sewed and gave baby blankets to premature babies. She helped Cindy Ford's class with writing children’s books. She was active in Booneville's Junior Auxiliary. She will be crowned 2026 Citizen of the Year at the end of March. Visitation will be March 12th at the Booneville Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. The Service will be held March 13th at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church in Booneville. Bro. Jason Reed and Bro. Bill Duncan officiating. Lisa will be laid to rest in the Liberty Cemetery. Booneville Funeral Home will be trusted with assisting Lisa's family. Mrs. Lindsey is survived by her husband, Jobie Lindsey of Booneville; one son, Reed Lindsey of Booneville; four brothers, Bob Holliday (Nina), Lyndale, Texas; John Mark Holliday (Karen) and Dr. Ed Holliday (Leslie), both of Tupelo; and Dr. Harry Holliday (Robin) of Starkville. She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son, Edward Jobe Lindsey; and two infant daughters, Anna Carol Lindsey and Sarah Alice Lindsey. Pallbearers will be Carter Holley, Collin Holley, Blake Lindsey, Bryce Lindsey, Edison Holliday and Harrison Holliday. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be addressed to Lisa Holliday Lindsey Nursing Scholorship, c/o Northeast Mississippi Community College, 101 Cunningham Blvd, Booneville, MS 38829.
